Policies to Shape a Healthier and More Equitable Future

The COVID-19 pandemic acts as a clarifying moment. A large proportion of people are vulnerable to poverty and serious illness than ever before in recent decades. That structural racism has shaped large racial and ethnic disparities in poverty and in COVID-19 is clear. Frequent data collection through the Census Pulse Surveys, Understanding America Study, and on COVID-19 cases and deaths has allowed us to begin to understand how policies might shape a healthier world during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and over the longer term.
