The US response to the COVID-19 pandemic is primarily driven by states, while the federal government plays an important role in providing guidance and coordination. In this context, state policies are main drivers of how many and which people get COVID-19 and die of COVID-19. The COVID-19 US State Policy Database (CUSP) documents state policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic with the goal of informing rapid response research and policymaking that improves the health and well-being of those most vulnerable to COVID-19 and its economic consequences. CUSP tracks policies that are aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, addressing economic precarity, and shaping a healthier and more equitable future.
